2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Diamond Mountain District Estate

$138.00

WINEMAKER’S NOTES

Coming from our estate vineyard and marking our 20th growing season, this 2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is one of our favorites. Perched on a steep hillside in the Diamond Mountain District, our petite 2-acre vineyard has an extremely unique west-facing exposure and sits atop compressed volcanic ash from Mount St. Helena’s more active days.

Our estate fruit is always hand-picked and meticulously sorted and destemmed to 2-ton open top fermenters. Primary fermentation last nearly a month with active management throughout to ensure proper extraction and tannin development.

Aged in the Teachworth caves for two years, this wine was bottled in July of 2021 following 21 months in French oak barrels, around 60% of which were new. This wine shines as a prime example of mountain Cabernet. Beautifully rich, dark fruits on the nose with tactile, enveloping tannins and a lengthy finish.
